My Story

Professional inline skater Halfpipe dicipline

  • UK Number 1

  • 5 time European Champion

  • X-Games silver medalist

  • Sky Sports athlete mentor

  • Dame Kelly Holmes Trust athlete mentor

At the age of 10 I put on my first pair of inline skates. Up to that point, I was no good at traditional sports, and although I didn't naturally take to skating, I became hooked on the sport and strived to become better.

With no coaches, clubs or trainers, there was no clear path through skating. I quickly learned the

importance of hard work and dedication. By the age of 14, with no local facilities nearby, I had two jobs, to cover my costs of travelling 500 miles by train, every week, in order to practice.

The start of my professional journey began when I was aged 17, but has been far from

smooth sailing. Over my 16 year career as a professional skater, I have performed and competed all over the world, picking up four European Champion titles and a silver medal at the X-Games in Shanghai. My sport has taught me to be focused, determined, hardworking, courageous and resilient; all attributes which transfer to everything we do in life and that I believe are especially important for children to learn. Since starting my work with young people, through the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust 10 years ago, I became a Lead Athlete Mentor with the Trust and also joined the Youth Sport Trust and began working as an athlete mentor on the 'Sky Sports Living For Sport' programme.

I have received a lot of support through my sporting career and now enjoy being able to give back that support and sharing what I have learned with the others.
